Nobody has the ability to motivate themselves better then you can motivate yourself that is why it is called self-motivation. The main Self-motivation tip is the understanding that self motivation comes from the inside of us, not an external process. Self motivation starts from within us

Here are a few self motivation tips:

Self Motivation tips #1. Reflect on your goals and write them down on a piece of paper. To get yourself motivated, you will need to know what you want to achieve. You will need to develop a short and long term plan. Which ever road you choose it will have to be achievable and realistic. If you set your goals to high that it can not be reached you will be doomed for failure and that is not very motivating. Once you know your goals write them down on a piece of paper and put it where it is visible to you at all times and read it at least 5 to 10 times a day. Always talk as if your goals are already attained and visualize what it will be like when all your goals are realized. Talk about your goals and dreams until you believe they are real.

Self Motivation tips #2. Stop Procrastinating: Procrastination is a huge motivation killer. Put time limits on the project you are doing. Always be very specific with your time limits. The feeling that there is a time crunch will motivate you to get your project done. Use this self motivation tip on anything you need to get done, whether it is a small or large project. Be careful though and make your time frame realistic, it is not healthy to create unnecessary stress from a goal you set for yourself.

Self Motivation Tips #3. Reward Yourself: Everybody likes to be rewarded when they accomplish something or a goal they have been working on, so reward yourself when you finish a project in the time frame you had given yourself so you have something to look forward to as a reward for finishing. Just do not wallow in your own pride forever. Always set new goals when one is accomplished. Successful people are always looking for new ways to improve themselves and their lives.

Self motivation Tips #4. Have some Fun: Home based businesses can be incredibly hard work, so a sense of humor is a key ingredient in your success recipe. Try not to take yourself or your business too seriously. Learning to enjoy yourself while you work your home based business keeps you enthusiastic and motivated, and staying enthusiastic and motivated helps you keep your stress levels under control.

Self motivation is its own reward and a jewel in the cap of your new-found freedom in successfully operating your very own work from home business. I hope these self motivation tips will help you succeed in life.

IndieLondon: Ellie Goulding announces new album, Halcyon - Your ...

ELLIE Goulding has announced details of her eagerly awaited new album Halcyon, which will be released on October 8th on Polydor Records.

It will be preceded by lead single Anything Could Happen on September 30, 2012.

Halcyon is the follow-up to Ellie Goulding?s hugely successful debut album Lights which was released in 2010 and has gone on to sell one and a half million copies and generate five million single sales worldwide.

Ellie says of the LP: ?This album for me is a journey from dark into light from confusion to understanding. I didn?t set out to write a break-up record but I think it became one.?

The Hereford-born singer songwriter first came to prominence when she topped the BBC Sound of 2010 Poll and was simultaneously awarded the Brits Critics Choice Award.

All the tracks on Halcyon were written and co-produced by Ellie Goulding and the majority were recorded in a converted barn in Ellie Goulding?s hometown in the Hay Valley with producer Jim Elliot (Kylie/Ladyhawke).

Fans got a taste of the new album earlier this month when Ellie Goulding posted a free download of new track Hanging On?featuring Tinie Tempah. The volume of fans rushing to hear the track caused Soundcloud to crash.

July 31, 2012: Three power grids across half of India fail in what authorities call overdrawing of the system, leaving a record 620 million people without power for several hours and raising serious concerns about whether the country's outdated infrastructure can meet soaring demands.

July 30, 2012: India's northern electricity grid fails for much of the day, leaving 370 million people without power.

Nov. 10, 2009: Storms near the Itaipu hydroelectric dam on the Paraguay-Brazil border are tentatively blamed for outages that cut power to as many as 60 million people in Brazil for two to three hours. The entire nation of Paraguay, population 7 million, is also briefly blacked out.

January-February 2008: Winter storms cause a nearly two-week blackout to about 4 million people around the central Chinese city of Chenzhou. Eleven technicians reportedly die trying to restore power.

Is Apple-Twitter Tie-Up To Be or Not To Be?

The New York Times had the tech industry buzzing last week when it ran an article reporting that Apple (NASDAQ:AAPL) had held talks to take a stake in Twitter. But Bloomberg quickly shot down the story over the weekend, reporting that Apple is not in active talks with Twitter, citing two sources familiar with the matter.

Though the NYT story says that the two sides are not in negotiations at the moment, it did go on to suggest that the talks could point to a closer relationship between the two companies. Bloomberg asserts that the two companies held talks more than a year ago but never reached any agreement, but the Times reported that the companies had held talks in recent months about Apple making an investment in the hundreds of millions of dollars that would have valued Twitter at more than $10 billion.

While Bloomberg has thrown cold water on the excitement fueled by the NYT report, the two are locked in a battle of he-said-she-said with only anonymous sources to back up their stories.

Furthermore, their reports aren?t as disparate as some are making them out to be ? both agree on several basic points: that the two sides talked, that they didn?t reach any agreement, and that they aren?t currently in talks. The main difference between the two reports is simply when these supposed talks were taking place.

Pawlenty shows two sides of VP contender

On a day when Mitt Romney surrogates and vice presidential contenders were spread out all over the country, Tim Pawlenty showed two very different sides of himself as a possible running mate.

Dressed in a blue checkered shirt and jeans, he first held a small roundtable with "sports parents" at a local ice rink in Cary, before holding a much larger rally opening a campaign office in Raleigh.

At the Polar Ice Rink, he listened to voters about their concerns and pledged to take them back to the presumptive GOP nominee.

At the rally, it was a much more revved up Pawlenty, one rarely seen during his television appearances on behalf of Romney, attacking President Obama's record.

"I don't know about you, but I'm tired of hearing his teleprompter speeches and no results. His big fancy speeches from four years ago and since, those speeches, those words, they don't put gas in our cars, do they?" Pawlenty asked the crowd, to screams of, "No!"

He continued the back and forth: "And his teleprompter speeches don't pay the mortgage, do they? And President Obama's teleprompter speeches don't pay our health insurance premiums, do they? And they don't get our loved ones, our friends and our neighbors, a job in the country, do they? We've got a problem, because we've got a president who's all foam and no beer."

At the ice rink he was much more subdued, listening to the parents as a next door neighbor would, not the fiery politician usually required of a running mate, but at both events he spoke about his past struggles.

"I grew up in a meat packing town," Pawlenty told the parents, but again repeated it during the rally. "My mom died when I was in 10th grade and my dad lost his job soon after."

He added that he understood what it's like when a family is focused on, "Am I going to have a job?"

They were brief mentions, but it's a family life that stands in stark contrast to Romney's wealthy background.

During the roundtable, one of the parents, Christine Godeaux told Pawlenty she needed to hear more from Romney. In an almost pleading tone she told him because "he's not Obama" is good enough for her, but not enough to make others vote for the former Massachusetts governor, especially those "afraid of change."

"I want to know specifically what his plan is," Godeaux said, adding she wanted to know what Romney was going to do on day one.

ABC News asked Godeaux after if she had seen Romney's series of "On Day One" ads and she said she had, but it wasn't enough detail for her.

Pawlenty described his tax plan briefly, but said he didn't want the crowd's "eyes to glaze over" before the hockey fan took to the ice for a quick spin. He spent much of his time in the rink coaching some children on ways to stop and giving tips.

ABC News asked Pawlenty afterwards if he agreed with Godeaux that Romney needed to give more.

"His message is a strong message and his story is a good story," Pawlenty said. "There are certainly voters who want a lot more detail and there's different ways they can get it. Got to strike that balance when you are only given 30 seconds to respond in media interviews or a brief time to speak on TV shows, but for those who are interested in more detail there are ways to do that and I think the campaign is, particularly when they get into debates, will have an opportunity to get into even more."

Democrats have consistently accused Romney of not giving enough details about any of his policies throughout the campaign.

Godeaux also told Pawlenty she was upset more GOP leaders didn't stand up for Chick-Fil-A when its CEO Dan Cathy disavowed same sex marriage.

Godeaux said she was horrified that the only public official she could thank was New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg.

"Michael Bloomberg," she said incredulously.

Bloomberg said this week that mayors of other cities, including Chicago's Rahm Emanuel and Boston's Tom Menino, were wrong to discourage franchises from opening there.

"I was just really wishing that someone in the Republican Party would have stepped forward," Godeaux said. "There just seems to be this real lack of leadership and I'm just hopeful and praying that if Gov. Romney does win the election that we'll be allowed to have civil debate and disagree with each other without feeling threatened or penalized."

Pawlenty said he had eaten at the chain for lunch right before, eating waffle fries and chicken strips, and said the reaction to Cathy's stance on the issue was "chilling."

"I mean it's stunning, it is jaw-dropping. And so I think strong people who see this need to stand up and say no we don't do that in the United States," Pawlenty said.

Pawlenty is one of the potential vice presidential picks believed to be on the campaign's short list, all of whom know their lives will change dramatically if they are selected to be Romney's running mate in the next month before the Republican National Convention.

With Romney off on the first overseas trip of his campaign, arriving in Israel tonight after a stop in London for the opening of the 2012 Summer Olympics, his surrogates were fanning all over battleground states -- Rob Portman stumping in Ohio, Bobby Jindal in Florida, and Marco Rubio in Las Vegas -- in what for some could be were veepstake auditions.

So when will the decision come?

"I don't know," Pawlenty told reporters, with a chuckle, after the two events today in the Raleigh area.

He may not know, but he can describe whom Romney is looking for, although he wouldn't go into any other details, including whether he has spoken to veep vetter and longtime Romney aide Beth Myers.

"We have a policy of not talking about the VP process, details, times, schedules, all that we don't get into that," he said.

At first he answered, "a good one."

"He speaks about this a lot because he gets asked about it a lot," Pawlenty said, referring to attributes of Romney's eventual number two. "He says ... whoever he picks has to be ready to be president of the United States in an unfortunate event something happens to the president. That's important, so there's a requisite set of experiences and abilities and judgments and wisdom that comes with a readiness to be president, so he's looking presumably looking for that."

The former Minnesota governor added that everything else that goes into a running mate is a "stew."

"A little this, a little that and you add it all together and what make sense not just for the campaign but what makes sense for the country," Pawlenty said.

This is the second time Pawlenty has been under this type of scrutiny.

In 2008, he was just one phone call away if John McCain had decided not to go with Sarah Palin.

So what's it like doing this twice?

"Not bad," Pawlenty said. "I've been doing my other stuff. Doing my other work, dealing with family matters, trying to get the garage -- my garage is a mess."

Cozi Family Organizer (for iPad)

How do you keep your household in order? Between managing finances, planning meals, remembering everyone's health status (allergies, doctor appointments), and keeping up with your to-do lists, running a family takes a lot of work and organization. An organizational Web app called Cozi aims to help you run your household more smoothly, and its iPad app, Cozi Family Organizer, seeks to help you out when you're on the go.

Unfortunately, both the Web app and iPad app are underwhelming.

Cozi Setup
Cozi's concept is to centralize important aspects of day-to-day family life. The Cozi iPad app works as a standalone service, though most people will likely prefer to set up their accounts via the Web app to explore the full range of features and tools. It is possible to set up entirely via the iPad app, though. The most crucial part of setting up is to create an entry for each member of the family, which can include pets, nannies, and extended family members. Everyone entered into the Cozi system is assigned a color (which you can change) so that any activity associated with that person becomes color-coded.

When you add an email address to any user's account, it gives the person a username with which to log in. So Uncle Artie gets a login because he has an email address, but the goldfish doesn't.

Cozi takes a few key aspects of personal organization, like keeping a calendar and to-do list, and simply makes them synced and shared across every family member's account. Everyone in your family who has a Cozi login will see the same calendar, shopping list, to-do list, and so forth, when they open Cozi.

Cozi iPad Features
The iPad app opens with a simple interface, with a rail of buttons on the left and a photo placeholder where you can upload a picture of your family to personalize the experience on the right. The main navigation comprises Calendar, To Do, Shopping, Journal, and Settings, which is a pared-down version of the Cozi Web app.

In fact, the iPad app omits more than I think it should. What's missing here that you get in the full Cozi online are messages, an email system, recipes, and recipe planning. From the iPad app, you can pull up and edit a little more information, like family members' email addresses and phone numbers, but those fields are confusingly tucked away under settings. I'd rather see a "People" or "Family Members" button included with the other main buttons.

Other family organizers simply give you more tools that are better designed for the complex needs of an entire household?although it's worth noting that none runs the full gamut. Even the ones we rate highly don't combine all the features available in competing products. For example, PCMag's Editors' Choice in this category, Famjama (beta), is the best I've seen and does at an excellent job of centralizing important family information, but even it doesn't have financial tools. Another Web app called Doxo, on the other hand, specifically handles finances and bill payment, but skips many other areas of family management.. Cozi's sweet spot is in lists and calendars, a lackluster niche to have?especially on an iPad?seeing as better digital calendars and list-making apps already exist.

Not So Cozy Security
Cozi comes in two versions: a free account that contains advertisements and some feature limitations and a paid Gold account ($4.99 per month or $49.99 per year), which removes both. One account works for the whole family, which sounds appealing except that all users login with the same password. Cozi recognizes different user names, in the form of each family member's email address, but one password is reused for everyone. A child could easily log in to the family account using his parent's email address. It's a security nightmare waiting to happen.

Shopping lists and to-do lists work as advertised, but lack solid management tools. I'd like to see Cozi add more control over which family members have read-only capabilities and who can actually edit and change a list. For example, if a mother created a shopping list and asked her spouse to buy all the items, she wouldn't want her bratty teenage son to quietly add the list things he wants? at least not without showing the items as "pending approval."

A bonus feature in the Cozi Web app that's absent from the mobile app (rather unfortunately?I think it's a missed opportunity) is recipe suggestions. If you find a recipe you like, you can automatically add all the ingredients to your grocery shopping list in the Web app. Wouldn't you want that same functionality on an iPad?

Family Organization on the Go
The Cozi Web app is a family management center with some decent shared calendar and list-making functions, but ultimately is not a website we recommend using, and thus, we cannot recommend the Cozi iPad app either. Our Editors' Choice for family organizers, Famjama (which is technically still in beta), is a much better option with tighter security features and overall better tools for keeping your family running smoothly. While Famjama does not have a dedicated iPad app, it does have a mobile-optimized site you can access from a Web browser.

Skin cancer: Diagnosis of deadly form of disease triples in over-50s ...

The number of Scots being diagnosed with a deadly form of skin cancer has tripled over the last 30 years.

Figures released by Cancer Research UK show that there are now 29 cases of malignant melanoma in every 100,000 of the population aged between 50 and 59 in Scotland. It means about four people in their 50s are diagnosed with the disease each week.

This is compared to the late 1970s, when there were around nine per 100,000.

The increase has prompted the charity to launch a campaign in partnership with supermarket chain Tesco to raise
awareness about the early signs of cancer.

Cancer Research UK leaflets with advice on preventing skin cancer will be available to customers in Tesco pharmacies and cafes. It is hoped the campaign will raise awareness as people have a better chance of beating the disease if it is caught early.

Tesco is also aiming to raise ?10m to fund 32 Cancer Research UK early diagnosis projects around the UK, such as an ongoing research project at the University of Edinburgh.

The team, led by Professor Jonathan Rees, is researching ways to help people recognise the signs of skin cancer earlier.

Professor Rees said: ?People?s idea of what skin cancer looks like is limited to three or four images that are widely used to promote awareness of the disease ? but we don?t think this goes far enough with helping people identify the problem and going to their doctor.

?With support from Tesco, the team in Edinburgh are working to use the internet and the potential it offers to access many images.

?It?s a bit like bird-spotting ? using pictures as a guide to what malignant melanoma could look like and helping people make a better decision about seeing their doctor.

?Scottish skin isn?t designed for sunshine and it?s worrying that melanoma rates are on the rise. But, if caught early, melanoma can be treated very successfully so if we can develop a better system of encouraging people to go to the doctor, this could potentially save a great deal of lives.?

DailyMail.co.uk 5 July 2012 Teenage relationships are becoming increasing violent due to the prevalence of internet pornography, the country?s top prosecutor has warned. Keir Starmer, the Director of Public Prosecutions, said: ?I have been concerned about the exposure of young people to all sorts of material. The emerging research tends to support that there is a lot of abuse within teenage relationships.? The Crown Prosecution Service is now reviewing whether action needs to be taken about the surge in domestic violence cases between teenagers. Last year, Mr Starmer warned in a speech that ?we are clearly at risk of a whole new generation of domestic violence? in teenage relationships. Describing the trend as ?pernicious? and ?serious?, Mr Starmer said research had ?shown that exploitation and violence in teenage relationships are more common than previously thought?.? The DPP had pointed to figures that showed teenage girls aged 16 to 19 were at the highest risk of sexual assault, stalking? and domestic abuse. Women aged 20 to 24 were only slightly less at risk.
